Juvenile dogs can be very excitable dogs and if you don't get them trained soon enough you'll have some serious issues to face with them later. Not all have had the opportunity in life to be put through Puppy School. On the other hand many people give a 2nd chance to a shelter/ pound dog. Sometimes these dogs join the family at an adult age. Some have been neglected, abused and have never had any dog training in their lives. Very important to start them in training straight away and to stablish some healthy boundaries early and to give you the best possible advice on how to interact with them. Love is great but not enough. Our programs can help you with the situations above and many more challenging ones.

• The earlier you start puppy in training the less chance for puppy to develop & practice bad habits

• Level 1 BASIC Manners, Obedience & Socialisation: 7 week course
• For dogs 5 months of age plus - Juvenile age and/or Adult dogs
• From 5 mths plus dogs start a different maturation period in their lives
• For dogs that have missed doing Puppy School 
• Suitable for those very excitable teenager/ juvenile dogs
• They learn: how to meet and greet other dogs & people politely, how to socialise properly with other dogs, how to pay attention to their owners in the presence of distractions, how to walk properly on the lead without pulling, which dog walking equipment to use, recall exercises with distractions, basic commands and manners, how to travel well in the car, settling & handling exercises and how to have a variety of life experiences plus much more...

• CANINE GOOD CITIZEN PROGRAM - CGC Award & Test              
• 5 week tuition preparation for test
• New course and CGC assessment starts - April 2012 

         To be assessed as competent in the Canine Good Citizen test:

• dog and handler must demonstrate an acceptable performance in a series of practical exercises based on everyday situations
• the owner must demonstrate knowledge in the care and maintenance of his/ her dog
• the owner must demonstrate knowledge of his/ her community responsibility as a dog owner
• Canine Good Citizen elements of competency:
• Road safety
• Out for a walk
• Grooming and veterinary examination
• Accepting a friendly stranger and sitting politely for petting
• Controlled walk
• Walking through a crowd and reaction to distractions
• Praise/ interaction
• Stay in position (sit or down)
• Reaction to another dog
• Release dog and recall:  (on or off lead)
• Supervised  tolerance to separation
• Canine Good Citizen owner educational assessment
